    Position: Maintenance Technician, Ugludax Lodge Company: APICDA Joint Ventures, an APICDA company Reports To: Tourism Manager Status: Part-time, Hourly Location: Nikolski, Alaska

    Position Overview

    The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of repair and maintenance services to keep the Ugludax Lodge safe, tidy, and in working order. This position is part-time, and all work tasks will be assigned on an on-call basis. Hours fluctuate based on project needs. This position is supervised by the Tourism Manager.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Respond to lodge for service and maintenance requests as needed.

    Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of general maintenance issues including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical projects.

    Fill and treat the heating oil as needed.

    Work with and maintain tools and equipment necessary to perform work duties.

    Notify the Tourism Manager of any mechanical or material issues.

    Maintain a clean and safe work area.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment

    Requires the physical ability to perform a wide range of duties both indoors and outdoors in an unpredictable and remote environment. This role routinely uses standard tools and equipment required for maintaining a building.

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to carry heavy loads up to 50 pounds, climb ladders to significant heights, squeeze through narrow spaces, and/or adjust heavy objects, frequently required to stand or sit for long periods; walk; bend; stretch; use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Minimum of one (1) year of construction or general labor experience.

    Electrical and other appropriate certifications related to assigned work duties.

    Equivalent education and certifications may be substituted for experience.

    Skills and Attributes

    Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous equipment and/or materials, securing their safety and advising others.

    Comfortable performing a wide range of complex projects, such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electric systems.
