  • Responsibilities

    Position is Part Time, Monday-Thursday 9 PM-12 AM and Friday 7 PM-9 PM

    General Purpose

    Performs general custodial, cleaning, maintenance and grounds upkeep for the Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center facilities and grounds.

    Reporting Relationships

    Supervision Received: The employee works directly under the MRAC Director.

    Supervision Exercised: N/A

    Essential Functions

    • Cleans/sanitizes offices, front desk area, locker rooms, family restrooms, childcare room, mechanical room and lobby.
    • Sweeps and mops floors, vacuums and shampoos carpets, dusts interior of building as necessary, empties trash and recycling, cleans mirrors, windows, doors, and other areas.
    • Assists with preparation for special events and programs if necessary; assists with maintenance and cleaning required for special events.
    • Keeps track of janitorial supplies inventory, maintains records of time and materials used. Assists with the installation of equipment and other needed items.
    • Must be willing to work early mornings/late nights and weekends or be flexible in sharing these shifts with other staff members.

    Education and Experience

    • High school graduate or equivalent, and
    • 6 months experience in facility and grounds maintenance, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in cleaning.
    • Ability to operate equipment used in janitorial work and cleaning.
    • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing; ability to establish effective working relationships with employees and the public.
    • Ability to work nights and weekends.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    Occasionally works outdoors in variable conditions, performs light and heavy labor; operates machinery; tasks regularly include muscular exertion, walking, standing, stooping, reaching, and lifting. Talking, hearing, and seeing are necessary for performing most essential functions. Common eye, hand and finger dexterity is required for most essential functions.
