    PPS is seeking a qualified Maintenance and Engineering Manager at is Phoenix AZ facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance and Engineering Manager’s main functions are to provide manufacturing engineering, project management and maintenance support for the implementation of technical solutions in the extruding, painting, anodizing and fabrication of aluminum products.

    This is a full-time, permanent, direct hire opportunity with excellent compensation at a new facility!  

    Responsibilities:

    • Developing and implementing initiatives to improve company performance in the areas of operational capability, cost management, safety, productivity, and quality.
    • Oversight of reliability systems, working directly with the maintenance department that consists of skilled hourly craftsmen.
    • Equipment stability, ensuring maintenance crews and process engineers are well planned and activities meet objectives of operations management.
    • Directs and coordinates activities of skilled trades people for repair maintenance, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance utilizing a CMMS.
    • Establish Key Performance Indicators ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity are monitored, corrected, and improved as required.
    • Promote and assure all equipment operates in a safe an efficient manner.
    • Identify and implement equipment upgrades as required.
    • Collaborate with all departments to continuously improve the company through waste reduction and process stability improvement initiatives.
    • Assist in preventive maintenance functions in establishing priorities and initiatives to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
    • Work with corporate technical team to conceptualize, develop, test, and implement cutting edge technology.
    • Assist in best practice benchmarking on new manufacturing solutions, processes and equipment for extrusion, paint and anodizing.
    • Keep contacts and develop partnerships with leading suppliers in the industry to stay current with industry best practices.
    • Act as a project manager on manufacturing engineering activities ensuring program plan, resources, budget and schedule are met.
    • Identify key process inputs for in control and capable and implement standardized systems.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing / plant environment.
    • Preferred experience in aluminum extrusion and finishing processes.
    • An identifiable track record of maintenance and engineering leadership driving manufacturing systems and leading technical solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Technical understanding of basic hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Relentless focus on driving operational stability through systematic processes.
    • Proven ability to lead, to collaborate and to execute.
    • A hands-on engineer with experience in highly automated systems.
    • People oriented with an innate ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and OEMs.
    • Experienced with project leadership in a fast-paced, customer focused, manufacturing environment.
    • Experienced and trained in maintenance management systems (CMMS).
