    Job Description

    BACKGROUND:

    We are looking for a Manager to design, execute and socialize consumer insights across NBC Entertainment and Peacock. This position will work closely with groups across the organization – including content development, production, marketing, and strategy – to represent the opinions, preferences, and behaviors of a wide range of consumers. This individual will be a critical player within the team tasked with conducting custom primary research in support focused on NBCUniversal’s robust content slate. In this role, you will focus primarily on Unscripted content, ranging genres (competition, lifestyle, game shows, documentaries, true crime, live events) and franchises (including The Real Housewives, Love Island, The Voice, The Traitors, Below Deck, America’s Got Talent , and more). You’ll be reporting into the Senior Director, Content Consumer Insights.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan and execute a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research focused on unscripted content – including testing for pilots/episodes, marketing materials (trailers, promo, key art, etc.), early-stage concepts, and in-market series
    • Manage partnerships with research vendors, keeping track of key project details such as timing, recruitment of respondents, survey programming, and data quality and output, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. This will cover a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
    • Consult with internal partners on their various initiatives, drawing on overall knowledge of viewers and best practices gleaned through insights and observation
    • Collaborate on genre and landscape studies meant to guide the businesses content offering more holistically
    • Integrate primary insights with other types of data, pulling together findings to create an integrated narrative, and contextualizing viewer attitudes and opinions in behavioral data
    • Stay informed and excited about the world of unscripted content, watching and analyzing a range of NBCU and competitive programming
  • Qualifications

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 4 years of experience in consumer insights
    • Experience in the entertainment and / or streaming industries

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Deep passion for television and storytelling, with strong familiarity of landscape and related content and conversations
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Experience building and managing a wide range of quant and qual methodologies
    • Detail oriented and adheres to a high level of data accuracy
    • Strong analytic skills - not just reporting directly on what viewers say, but making linkages between answers and contextualizing in other research to “read between the lines”
    • Strategic thinker who takes an action-oriented, forward-looking approach to consumer insights with a keen ability to listen to the voice of the consumer and derive conclusions and recommendations from raw data
    • Ability to be nimble and adaptive in real time, juggling multiple projects at once

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
