    Job Description

    The Facility Design Manager (FDM) on the Ride & Show Programs team oversees and manages the Architectural and Engineering (A&E) design and construction administration effort within a Ride and Show project. The FDM also manages the resources, finances, and schedule of the A&E scope of a project and works with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure proper integration and final installation between the facility and ride/show systems.

    • Manages the A&E vendor during the design and construction phases of the project.
    • Prepares and maintains the A&E schedule for facility design and construction.
    • Manages planning and pre-design activities such as feasibility studies and sustainability reports
    • Evaluates requirements for outside design resources, including preparing requests for proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing the design process.
    • Ensures that the creative and technical design intent is maintained during the preparation of design documents by project partners and other outside parties.
    • Leads design reviews during design development with project partners, local AHJ, and all other required parties. Owns and oversees completion of action items identified.
    • Prepares regular progress reports on the status of the project and A&E design efforts.
    • Manages the permitting process in collaboration with the local AHJ
    • Monitors construction in the field including identifying and resolving discrepancies between construction and drawings and/or design intent. Owns resolutions of all RFIs from the general contractor during construction.
    • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

    Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
    • 3-5 Years: Turn-key projects experience, specifically within the entertainment/theme park industry. Preferred Supervisory and contract/vendor management experience.
    • 7+ Years Relevant design and construction/project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD

    • Experience working in a union environment
    • Strong background/experience with electrical installation projects
