    The Social Work Manager provides leadership for staff and accountability for the development of social services program assigned under Care Management operations. Oversight of these programs would include goals and objectives related to patient experience, personnel management, fiscal resources, performance improvement and interdepartmental coordination/collaboration. He/she serves as a role model and provides clinical expertise to the department staff. The Social Work Manager ensures social work standards of care and scope of practice are met consistently.

    • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the End-of-life continuum and the benefit PIH Health provides within the integrated delivery system.
    • Experience with PI/CQI processes and systems, including demonstrated ability to provide consultation and instruction to social workers regarding their assessment, intervention, planning and evaluation.
    • Ability to contribute to staff performance annual evaluation, perform staff annual competencies evaluations, provide staff orientation and training.
    • Extensive knowledge with regulatory requirements related to reporting of child/elder abuse, substance use/abuse, child protective custody, adoptions, and other legal requirements.
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision, supervision and management of various clinical and social services programs including programs for seniors and persons with disabilities, emergency services and services for adults and families.
    • Understands potential impacts and consequences of decision making in situations including interdependencies between departments within the enterprise.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with strong communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and oral.
    • Organizational skills and ability to trouble shoot, handle crises and prioritize work effectively in order to address immediate issues in order to successfully reach established goals and objectives.
    • Independent performer.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
    • Has full knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation; Title 22 regulations of the State of California; Joint Commission standards as related to departments under responsibility.

    Required Experience

    Required:

    • Current California license as Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners
    • Accredited Case Management (ACM) certified required or to be obtained within one year of employment in this role.
    • Three or more years of work experience in healthcare facility is required.
    • Two or more years of leadership experience, preferred.
    • Evidence of continuing education.
