Qualifications
- Manages and is accountable for specimen management departmental operations within the assigned building (Building D, Building N and/or Building Z).
- Assigned building will be designated by formal organizational chart.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel to efficiently handle the day-to-day workload for assigned building.
- Reviews departmental policies and procedures manuals to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Provides leadership for the enforcement, improvement, monitoring, and analysis of existing departmental quality processes and Standard Operation Processes (SOP) and Work instructions (WI).
- Ensures all job functions of designated specimen management building are executed according to documented procedures and policies as detailed in current SOPs and WIs
- Hires, transfers, promotes, disciplines, and terminates employees according to existing policies.
- Monitors the overall performance of employees. Prepares and delivers annual and interim performance evaluations and proposes salary adjustments accordingly.
- Responsible for the execution of the quality system of the assigned departments.
- Ensures that Facility and organizations policies are adhered to within department.
- Initiates plan and documentation of corrective action if needed.
- Communicates quality outcomes to appropriate individual and departments as defined by policy.
- Participates in operational meetings and conducts regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Interacts with Client audits and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Contributes to and fosters a sense of teamwork, productivity, and continual improvement within departments.
- Works with other managers to ensure that area specific departments of responsibility are harmonized with the other ECL sites and geographic locations.
- Works with other organizational departments to ensure that specific responsibilities are performed and executed within agreed timelines.
- Support and provide continuing education, training, and growth opportunities to staff, and to other ECL personnel as appropriate.
- Fosters growth opportunities for all staff.
- Ensures all staff are adequately trained and documented.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a suitable or allied industrial environment.
- Strong experience in a related or similar process orientated field would also be considered acceptable
Education
- Bachelor or Master in Healthcare, Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Science, or another technical discipline and/or experience.
