Manager of Montessori Learning & Content Development (REMOTE)
Job Description
AMS is seeking a creative, visionary, and detail-oriented educator to join our newly formed Montessori Learning, Research & Innovation Team as the Manager of Montessori Learning & Content Development. This position will play a leading role in reimagining Montessori content for today’s adult learners and teacher educators, beginning with the creation of a comprehensive AMS Resource Library for use by AMS Teacher Education Programs (TEPs).
The ideal candidate is a skilled Montessori practitioner and a creative thinker, visual storyteller, and curriculum designer—someone who can bring high-fidelity Montessori content to life through written curriculum, rich visuals, lesson videos, and beautifully designed, branded materials. They must be committed to innovation while upholding the core tenets of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy as outlined in AMS’s teacher education affiliation handbook.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of a high-quality AMS Resource Library, beginning with Early Childhood, and expanding to Infant/Toddler and Elementary in future phases.
Create and design Montessori manuals and albums for adult learners and teacher educators that reflect AMS practices, core content, and inclusive approaches. Ensure alignment with AMS standards, accreditation expectations, and authentic Montessori pedagogy.
Collaborate with designers, illustrators, photographers, and videographers to develop visually engaging albums and lesson demonstration videos.
Prepare and style a mock classroom environment to serve as the backdrop for photo and video production.
Bring creativity and artistry to layouts, visuals, and instructional formats to support multiple adult learning styles.
Rethink traditional album structures to better serve contemporary adult learners and educators.
Engage the AMS community—including TEP instructors, teacher trainers, and Montessori classroom teachers—in feedback and idea generation.
Incorporate inclusive, modern, and culturally relevant design principles into all materials.
Manage the phased rollout of materials and videos across age levels and formats.
Collaborate with other members of the Montessori Learning, Research & Innovation Team to ensure alignment, consistency, and shared resources for AMS learning and professional development content.
Maintain project timelines, quality standards, and version control of all assets.
Support the Executive Director with special projects and initiatives.
Serve as a Montessori thought partner, providing Montessori-based insights to internal teams.
Collaborate with the events team to develop and approve Montessori programming to meet the educational needs of the Montessori community and adheres to AMS standards, AMS events include: The Montessori Event, Labposium, regional symposiums, leadership gatherings, summits, and research forums.
Qualifications
Passion for advancing the AMS movement and supporting high-quality Montessori learning and innovation across various age levels. AMS or approved Montessori credential required (Early Childhood; additional levels preferred).
Minimum of 6 years of teaching experience in a Montessori classroom environment.
Experience in adult instruction or teacher education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, research, or a related field strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, lesson design, and core practices.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum writing, content creation, or resource development for adult learners.
Exceptional visual and artistic sensibility, with experience working alongside creative teams or in creative production environments.
Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with design tools and learning platforms a plus.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines with excellence.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, planning, and follow-through capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex ideas clearly and accessibly.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse network of educators, researchers, and organizational partners.
