POSITION SUMMARY
The PURCHASING MANAGER is a key role for Manna Distributors. You will purchase all the equipment that Manna Distributors sells. This includes residential appliances, like refrigerators and ranges, foodservice equipment, such as walk-in-coolers and hoods, and commercial laundry equipment, like washers and dryers.
You will be responsible for purchasing at the best possible price, but you will also be responsible for meeting stringent deadlines. You will work with our operations team and our sales representatives to get orders delivered to our warehouse or jobsites on time and in budget.
You will order equipment as needed on a per job basis. Manna does not inventory much because there are countless models and options to choose from. Our warehouses store plenty of equipment, but these items were ordered for jobs that are going out soon.
Your orders will have many different types and brands of equipment on them. They will have residential or commercial equipment on them. Some might have a mix of both.
You will frequently update and correct orders. You will change obsolete models to current models. You will catch pricing errors. And you will find model number errors.
You will also be responsible for entering all receipts into our operating system. This process will become automated but for now it is a manual one. This means that you will be responsible for entering quantities and serial numbers for all equipment that Manna receives. This data is entered into SAGE Intaact, our operating system.

ACTIVITIES:
You will cut purchase orders for residential appliances, foodservice equipment, and commercial laundry equipment. You will also enter the receipts of this equipment into our computer system.
You will receive orders from our Operations Team on a consistent basis. You will use the orders to generate your purchase orders. You will enter purchase orders into the manufacturer’s electronic portals, or you will email the purchase orders. You will adjust sales order dates based upon availability and you will inform operations and sales of these changes. You will be in constant communication with these department to ensure that product arrives on time. You will also contact them frequently to resolve pricing disputes and errors. When products need to be returned to the manufacturer, you will ensure that Return Authorizations are received.
You will also maintain our inventory counts in both our computer system and in our warehouse. You will adjust inventory in our computer system. You will also be responsible for the physical inventory in our warehouse.
This means that you will also manage our semi-annual inventory count process, which involves physically counting all the equipment and parts in our warehouse and reconciling this information with our computer system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least 3 years of purchasing experience. Must have experience purchasing for a reseller. Must have experience purchasing building materials. Strong preference for candidates who have purchased residential appliances and/or foodservice equipment. Bachelors or associates degree is a plus.
