Manufacturing Engineer

Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing company that is looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their team. The Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with optimizing and refining manufacturing processes, enhancing quality, boosting efficiency, and reducing costs.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Conduct continuous evaluations of manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, leveraging LEAN methodologies.
- Perform detailed labor time studies to assess and improve departmental productivity.
- Develop and maintain standardized work instructions to streamline production processes.
- Provide recommendations on machinery, tools, and equipment acquisition and utilization to support operational goals.
- Engage in engineering tasks, including designing machinery, equipment, jigs, and fixtures to meet production needs.
- Collaborate directly with shop floor personnel to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and foster continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cost management programs by establishing and maintaining relevant standards.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing data for manufacturing processes.
- Identify and implement safety and quality improvement measures.
- Participate in Kaizen events and other LEAN initiatives as needed to support company goals.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
Physical Demands:
- Spend approximately 60% of the workday on stationary tasks using computers and office equipment.
- Allocate about 40% of time to active engagement on the production floor, observing operations and collaborating with various teams.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CAD software for design and engineering tasks.
- Experience in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and ECOs.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in designing and producing tooling, fixtures, and gauges for prototype and production processes.
- Proven experience in applying methodologies such as SPC, Lean, and Six Sigma to manufacturing processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on engineering experience in fabrication and assembly environments.
- Familiarity with SAP software is preferred
