  • Responsibilities

    Manufacturing Engineer – MST

     

    • Performs regular (daily) assignments, individual project assignments and participate on project teams created to study, prepare recommendations, and implement solutions to various organizational issues or problems.
    • Serve on project teams designed to study and address a variety of issues, improve performance, promote better decision making and to solve problems in the areas of production, quality, safety and cost containment and control procedures. Other projects may include, but not limited to, job evaluation, product development, work simplification, facilities layout, equipment capacity, material handling, and manpower. Material utilization planning, work standards, standards of performance, and production incentives.
    • Will gather information from a variety of sources, study problems, break them down into component parts and recommend solutions to coordinate elements by applying advanced analytical techniques and methods from a variety of disciplines including mathematics, science, and engineering.
    • Prepare written reports to management indicating solution or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution. Assess implications of various courses of action to provide improved basis for management decisions.
    • Coordinate policies and practices designed to improve divisional operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and otherwise promote cost reduction.
    • Perform a variety of engineering assignments in work measurements for the establishment of standards.
    • Plan and oversee work study and training programs to promote efficient manpower utilization. May work closely with other engineering disciplines, production managers, and production personnel to increase production quality, safety, efficiency, or volume.
    • Conduct logical analysis of management problems and management information requirements for solutions by computer.
    • Conduct organizational studies, development implementations, assist with cost control programs and standards.
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
    • Assist in the maintenance of quality standards and may serve on an audit or project team.
    • Perform time and motion studies and other engineering studies.
    • Work closely with senior managers to identify and solve a variety of problems and carry out analysis to support management’s quest for performance improvement.
    • Apply advanced analytical techniques to assist in decision making and problem resolution by recommending major changes in procedures or objectives. Will follow-up to monitor and evaluate progress and results.
    • Schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
    • Assist in the training of appropriate personnel at the divisional and departmental level.
    • Analyze organization and operations to isolate, identify and understand basic principles governing relationships within and between various phases of our business.
    • Recommend and initiate projects that will improve the way we do business.


    Required Education and Skills

    B.S. Degree in Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical, or Engineering Technology; MBA a plus.

    Experience preferred, but not required.

    Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Auto CAD, Solidworks.

    Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6-month time span and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

    $68,000-$75,000 per year
