We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (MEE) to join our dynamic team. As an MEE, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of equipment used in Matrix's manufacturing and assembly processes. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Director of Quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback from a manufacturing equipment perspective to identify potential issues early in the development process.
- Provide written proposals including cost-benefit analyses for manufacturing equipment.
- Design, build, and install manufacturing equipment for optimizing the assembly and testing of our products.
- Ensure equipment adheres to safety and industry quality standards.
- Develop written manuals for describing proper use, upkeep, troubleshooting, and spare parts necessary to sustain the equipment.
- Train employees on how to use and maintain the equipment.
- Maintaining a calibration/validation process for test equipment.
- Conduct data analysis from test results, detect issues, and track root causes.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for product improvements to the product design team.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to manufacturing and test equipment.
- Support Matrix's ISO/Ex initiatives.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- .3 or more years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, who can adapt to new technologies and challenges.
- Solid-Works and A-CAD experience.
- Experience in the design of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in PLC, Robot, Vision, and Servo motor integration.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) to develop and maintain test scripts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.
Working Conditions
- This position will be primarilyy in an office setting with frequent visits to the production floor.
- Occasional travel is expected, up to 10%.
