    Position Description

    The Site Leader oversees the management of all areas of Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Plant Engineering to produce products and direct activities so that products are manufactured safely, on schedule, and within quality standards and cost objectives.


    In this position, you will direct and oversee the manufacturing operations. You will provide leadership, management, and mentoring necessary to ensure that all teams have the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, resources, support, and talent in place to operate efficiently and support the growth of the Company, in accordance with established goals, collectively by you, the COO and Leadership Team.


    Responsibilities

    • Execute manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
    • Implement and drive Operational Excellence programs and processes.
    • Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations partnering with Human Resources, Safety, and other departments as appropriate.
    • Develop current state and improvement strategies and plans for the facility working with Sales, Engineering, Quality, corporate leadership, and other departments.
    • Grow and develop an effective leadership team in a transformational environment
    • Champion of the company safety programs/processes and adhere to all appropriate safety policies and procedures while directing employees and seeking opportunities to improve safe work practices.
    • Owner of Site Level Scorecard and results
    • Provide leadership in supporting employee engagement programs and culture.
    • Deliver targeted OEE / productivity performance with sustained year-over-year improvement.
    • Partner with Sales to deliver the highest level of customer service, focusing on top customers.
    • Grow and develop Business leaders at all levels of the Plant organization.
    • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff taking appropriate actions as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
    • Direct the establishment and implementation of Quality Control Plan processes to ensure zero-defect.
    • Deliver Operational Excellence savings annually per budget.
    • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
    • Develop and set stretch goals for direct reports in line with Company strategy.
    • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.




    Experience & Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, an MBA is a plus!
    • Leadership of large complex manufacturing organization
    • Leadership in a transformational environment
    • Proven experience to develop talent to the next level
    • Ability to drive cultural changes across the organization
    • Experience leading and implementing manufacturing automation
    • Experience working collaboratively with other Site leaders within the company
    • 7+ years of successful management of a manufacturing operation. 
    • Prior LEAN experience and a good understanding of how to lead Kaizen and 5’s events.
    • Experience managing a batching and filling manufacturing operation.

    • Strong knowledge of FDA, OSHA, and GMP regulations.
    • Excellent supervisory, computer, and communication skills.

    • Proven ability to evaluate production processes and staffing needs for best results.
    • Seasoned operations-oriented with a hands-on approach (willing to spend time on the floor) and a record of success.
    • Ability to coach leaders in following procedures and ensuring timely and efficient completion of objectives.
    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate skills to employees.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.
    • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.


    Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills & Abilities

    • MBA or other master’s degree.
    • Liquid filling/packing experience.
    • Advanced training in Quality Control systems.
    • Advanced math.
    • Proficient in AS400, RF Scanners, and Microsoft Office software.
    • Certifications in MAT, CPR & First Aid, OSHA, and Forklift.
