    Manufacturing Operations Superintendent 

    Location: Defiance, Ohio

    A well-established manufacturing facility is seeking a Plant Superintendent to lead operations in a large-scale production environment. This role is critical in driving safety, quality, production efficiency, and continuous improvement within a unionized facility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring safety compliance, production goals, and quality standards are met.
    • Lead and develop a team of hourly and salaried employees across multiple production lines.
    • Manage budgeting, strategic planning, and cost reduction initiatives.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize equipment reliability and process improvements.
    • Ensure adherence to environmental and workplace safety regulations.
    • Work cross-functionally to resolve operational challenges and maintain compliance with union agreements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar) or Business Management with technical proficiency.
    • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven experience managing large teams (150+ employees) and multiple production lines.
    • Strong background in cost control, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience working in unionized environments, with an understanding of labor relations and grievance procedures.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Background in batching, glass melting, ovens, and furnace operations.
    • Previous roles in process engineering, supervision, and plant leadership.
    • Experience coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams on large-scale production systems.
