Overview:
The Manufacturing Production Manager will be responsible for all of the onsite activities at our client's facility in the Portland area. You will have the opportunity to lead and manage Production Supervisors, focusing on managing, training and developing the next leaders in the organization. You will be a safety champion, training others on best practices, motivating others to achieve their professional goals, all while maintaining a low turnover, profitable and ethical business in the residential and commercial building materials space. Bonus points if you are bilingual (Spanish speaking) and have grown up in the manufacturing sector.
Compensation:
- $125-$140K base salary
- Annual Incentive Plan bonus up to 16%
- Medical/Dental plans for you, a spouse, and children up to 26 years of age!
The ideal candidates will possess most of the following in their background:
- 7+ years of manufacturing industry expertise, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory and managerial role. You have specific expertise managing other leaders, budgets, and reporting to the Plant Manager on your team's work, improving manufacturing processes, finding efficiencies and achieving annual team goals.
- Proven expertise in the identification, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures that support total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, as well as safety policies and procedures internally.
- A past record of improving product and production Quality and setting quality standards for a manufacturing facility. You educate employees on quality of products through instruction and development of training tools and plant procedures, and keep employees abreast of issues found in audits and/or inspections.
- You have a passion for customer satisfaction, quality, cost reduction, customer service, environmental stewardship and production / material yield.
- Specific expertise managing 5+ manufacturing supervisors across different shifts, and up to 150 total employees, 50 per shift. You will own the hiring, promotion, training processes, hold others accountable to their work, and incentivize others to achieve their goals. You also are adept at resolving interpersonal complaints and creating and implementing discipline and performance improvement plan for individuals when needed.
- You have a high degree of basic mathematical and critical thinking skills, are our client's products are all "custom" for the commercial and residential housing industry. You can read schematics, understand plane and geometric shapes and sizing and draw meaningful conclusions from data in a variety of formats.
- This can be a physically demanding job! This includes standing for long periods of time, wearing full PPE, being able to climb and lift up to 25 pounds, often times in hot and cold weather with loud noises. PLANT HOURS:
- 1st Shift 7a-3:30p
- 3rd Shift 8p – 630am
- Production manager typically works from 6a – 4p; periodically will go to 3rd to work with 3rd shift team.
