    Job Description

    Primary Function of the Position:

    The primary role of this position is to partner with Manufacturing to develop and sustain a well-trained and flexible workforce through hands-on training, mentoring, and formal certification. This role involves working closely with Production and Training Supervisor to identify and prioritize quarterly training goals based on production needs and training scorecard. Routinely meet with Production and Training Supervisor to review training plan in order to achieve quarterly goals. Assist in maintaining the accuracy of manufacturing and training documentations to ensure the effectiveness of the training program. This position will report to Training Supervisor.

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Deliver on-the-job (OJT) training courses in the areas of manufacturing skills and processes, quality system/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and requirements, information technology tools, and other subjects as required.
    • Assess employee skills and provide feedback to management.
    • Provide technical support to Manufacturing personnel and the production line as needed.
    • Conduct training of Manufacturing personnel and perform certifications per certification criteria and requirements.
    • Perform weekly and monthly audits of manufacturing area based on manufacturing standards and guidelines.
    • Track and maintain training data for accuracy.
    • Solicit Training Evaluation from Manufacturing personnel to identify areas for improvement in training process.
    • Properly complete manufacturing documentation, update leadership teams, participate in training planning meetings, initiate reports, escalate quality issues, report efficiency, and record measurements as needed.
    • Identify and prevent gaps in training and production coverage.
    • Update/ red-line MPIs using PowerPoint/Excel/Word as required.
    • Assist in change control process by submitting change order requests.
    • Cross-trains existing or mentors newly hired Trainers to best practices, training guidelines, policies, and job functions. Identifies and coordinates with Training Specialist or management to increase training proficiency (1:1 or group).
    • Identifies quality issues in the production areas and helps management with RCAs.
    • Participate and manage improvement projects both for the training and production teams.
    • Maintain excellent attendance record.
    • Perform other duties as assigned (for example, job fairs, candidate screening, and onboarding, working as capacity on the manufacturing line, site tours)

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Perform at a high level with consistency and be in good standing, (QPN quality issues and Attendance). In addition, you must demonstrate leadership, autonomy, and meet CCEE standards.
    • Proficient with relevant manufacturing related software.
    • Intermediate-level expertise in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Ability to make efficient judgments and escalate issues as needed (e.g., gather consensus, work through challenges with management).
    • Coordination of tasks and prioritization with minimal oversight. Can create a plan for a task implementation with some direction.
    • Ability to present training course material to individuals and groups, facilitating effective learning experiences.
    • Knowledge of Demand Flow Technology/Lean Manufacturing concepts and disciplines.
    • A firm knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Intuitive Surgical quality system requirements.
    • Must demonstrate ability to interact with all roles in manufacturing.
    • Solid knowledge of all manufacturing guidelines, policies, procedures, DOPs, etc. Has an expertise of MPI/WI templates, Design Controls, Change Controls, Product and Engineering Processes.
    • Provide both support in the training department and with manufacturing production.
    • Lead by example and work as a dedicated team player.

    Required Education and Training

    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as trainer or team lead/supervisor in manufacturing environment, preferably in medical industry.

    Working Conditions

    • Ability to work with microscopes.
    • Ability to work in a Controlled Environment Room (CER).
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Prior experience as trainer in manufacturing or warehouse facilities.
    • Medical device experience preferred.
