    Job Summary:

    The Director of Sales & Marketing is accountable for managing the total sales, advertising promotional, and overall revenue generating efforts within the hotel through the following responsibilities.

    Job Duties:

    Daily Operations

    1. Attaining and/or surpassing budgeted revenue expectations and Revpar index targets.
    2. Proficient in STAR Report and other key metrics analysis
    3. Constant sales and marketing focus on all revenue streams. 
    4. Rooms, Food/Beverage, Catering
    5. An effective member of the Executive Committee.
    6. Direct all sales and marketing initiatives for the hotel. 
    7. Prepares and administers the hotel's Marketing Plan and Budget to achieve the revenue goals.
    8. Is a leader in Revenue Management to ensure that maximum revenues/yields are achieved in the development, maintenance and education of DAAP, Strategic Rate Pricing, Strategic Rate
    9. Selling and will play a valuable role in the development of the Strategic Plan and the education of all members of the team to this direction.
    1. Responsible for setting individual Room Revenue/Night Goals (Quota’s).

    1. Responsible for forecasting Distant Early Warning (DEW) mechanisms.
    2. Key individual in identifying market trends and new opportunities and implementing  strategies to address them
    3. Provides guidance and direction in the development of segment action plans
    4. Handles account management responsibilities for key market segment.
    5. Provides the appropriate training programs to sales office staff.
    6. Responsible for quarterly management of the Sales Incentive Program.
    7. Directs the activities of outside agencies and internal staff on local and in-house advertising campaigns; supervises the production and distribution of literature and collateral.
    8. Ensures the integrity of key account/key prospect data base and monitors staff input for accuracy, thoroughness and coverage of local area.
    9. Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
    10. Participates in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations.
    11. Participates in select sales activities both on and off property.
    12. Provides on-going direction and development support to all direct reports by ensuring appropriate sales training programs are in line with individual career objectives and by providing guidance and direction in the development of segment action plans.
    13. Develops, energizes and leads a motivated, competent and cohesive team consistent with the hotel, through implementation of approved Human Resources and Sales Programs.
    1. Keeps a constant focus on identification of hi-potential Service Professionals and succession planning opportunities/needs

    1. Liaise with Public Relations to stimulate additional profile within all markets, which complement the sales effort
    2. Coordinates and conducts periodic pricing reviews
    3. Maintains open communication with all Rep companies and Firm
    4. Focuses attention on prospecting new accounts, which may be users of other regional, national and international destinations.
    5. Regularly entertains existing and potential clients.
    6. Take responsibility for other duties as assigned.
    7. Takes an active role in Ownership relations, where applicable.
    8. Ensures that the S&M expenses are appropriate to the business plan expectations and within budget.
