    J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Market Data Sourcing Business Analyst – America’s Sourcing and Vendor Management at a NYC Global Investment Bank.

    Based in New York or Philadelphia as part of a global team you will work closely with the business units to provide analysis, advice, and guidance as it relates to financial Market Data including financial content and analytics products. You will participate and lead strategic and business driven initiatives to help drive efficiencies and cost management.

    With your first-class experience in Market Data you will provide advice and analysis on market data content and market data products across asset classes and internal business units.

    The firm will look to your excellent data driven mindset to understand, interpret and define business requirements in relation to both sell and buy side trading operations and their use of market data.

    Making strong internal relationships with your superb interpersonal skills you will interact with stakeholders, operations and technology teams to analyze and constantly strive for cost effective ways to use data across the enterprise. These interpersonal skills will also be utilized to develop and maintain strong relationships with our market data vendors and exchanges.

    Your attention to detail and process-driven mindset will allow you to add value, matching the best product and content to your user needs, contract management, validating commercial framework, overseeing terms & conditions, evaluating vendor and product offerings and clearly understanding what can and can’t be done with vendor and exchange licensing and products working closely with Market Data compliance team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing advice and analysis on market data products
    • Interpreting and defining business requirements as well as analyzing more cost-effective ways to use data across the enterprise.
    • Your relationship building skills will be utilized as you effectively interact with business stakeholders, operations and technology teams as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with our market data suppliers.

    5+ years of relevant Market Data procurement/market data experience in the financial services industry, as well as experience working with or for market data vendors such as Refinitiv (LSEG), Bloomberg and FactSet and other market data vendors.

    Strong academic record and a BA/BS degree

    Salary range for this position: $100,000 - $209,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.     • Extensive knowledge of market and reference data Strong analytical skills
    • Demand management skills, maintaining an understanding of end user requirements, product trials/replacements, market data reviews, and product licensing, as well as negotiation skills and relationship management experience
    • Project management experience with product integrations, upgrades, trials, displacements, onboarding of new services, reviews, and improving internal processes
    • Experience of interpreting contractual and commercial terms, ideally from a procurement or sales perspective, and the subsequent procurement management lifecycle
