    Role:

    Sepsis Alliance is looking for a part-time (15-20 hours per week), detail-oriented, and organized Marketing and Communications Specialist with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will support Sepsis Alliance's marketing and communications initiatives across the organization's four pillars. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be expected to enhance relations between Sepsis Alliance and its constituents, sponsors, and partners.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage written marketing content including but not limited to e-blasts, email newsletters, presentations, and outreach materials;
    • Assist the Director of Marketing and Communications in developing annual communication calendar/plans for Sepsis.org, Sepsis Alliance Institute, and Sepsis Alliance Voices;
    • Identify, foster, and manage relationships with partner and stakeholder organizations to further mutual goals and secure engagement in Sepsis Alliance initiatives;
    • Research and identify B2B partner prospects;
    • Pitch subject matter experts to media, and maintain media contact list/database;
    • Assist in the development and implementation of communications plans for conferences and other events;
    • Manage relationships with external partners, such as Nursing Network, to ensure Sepsis Alliance programs are reaching an extended audience;
    • Assist with website marketing content management and updates;
    • Maintain company communications policies and procedures, including the style guide;
    • Continuously evaluate the performance of communications and recommend changes as necessary;
    • Develop and execute communications plan in support of fundraising appeals and special events as requested;
    • Other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of experience in communications strategy development and collaborating with cross-functional teams
    • At least 2 years of experience writing, and editing press releases, news articles/blog posts, website content, newsletters, and e-blasts
    • Proven ability to write clear and compelling copy and content
    • Experience writing and producing social media content
    • Ability to think creatively and create and adhere to deadlines
    • Experience creating content for a healthcare related organization preferred
    • Passion to improve health outcomes and save lives

    Skills:

    • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
    • Working knowledge of Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics, and Wordpress preferred
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask multiple projects
    • Ability to work independently and virtually
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members across all levels and functions of the organization
