    Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

    Department: Growth Office Reports To: Director of Marketing

    Primary Location: Washington, DC FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

    Parameters: Full-time; 12 months/year Pay Range: $43,000-$45,000

    Position Summary: The Marketing Coordinator will assist in all areas of marketing lead generation and marketing support. They will be comfortable in maintaining various marketing & engagement campaigns and have a creative skillset that enables them to brainstorm new initiatives.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Proactively monitor and maintain project progress and alignment with established goals

    2. Maintains databases and ensure accurate data collection in Salesforce

    3. Support cross-functional teams by conducting research and analysis, providing data, market trends, forecasts, CRM analyses, and new product information

    4. Leverage insights to create comprehensive reports that help drive informed decision-making and enhance overall strategies.

    5. Utilize complex findings to develop, execute, and track progress for marketing, engagement/sales, and demand generation campaigns and initiatives.

    6. Assist in preparing marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives; planning and organizing promotional presentations; and updating calendars.

    7. Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify and propose ideas and initiatives to help promote general awareness of the company.

    8. Get promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with the graphics department, proofreading, inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipts.

    9. Plans meetings, events, fairs, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists.

    10. Assist in monitoring budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

    11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading trade publications.

    12. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

    13. Proactively explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    • 1 - 3 years' experience in marketing/brand management or related fields

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities

    • Knowledge of digital platforms, ad tracking, marketing analytics

    • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising marketing campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate

    • Proven organizational and time management skills to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressures and with fluctuating priorities. Work both independently and cooperatively to accomplish duties with minimal supervision.

    • Creativity, resourcefulness, and the use of original ideas.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includes editing and proofreading to produce quality marketing materials. Strong writing skills with the ability to compose creative, concise directed copy, which is both informative and accurate.

    • Proven ability to make presentations to small and large groups.

    • Ability to work and effectively communicate with diverse campus and community populations including students, alumni, campus departments, colleagues, faculty, administration, and employers to plan and execute all aspects of outreach efforts, and program publicity and promotional activities.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures.

    Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications.

    Knowledge of tools used for student interest and personality type and the ability to interpret results of such tools to assist students in making sound decisions.

    Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment.

    Skill in evaluating a student’s academic interests and desires to formulate a plan designed to assist the student in achievement of specified career goals.

    Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner.

    Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail.

    Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment.

    Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and take appropriate action, resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other department staff, students, and the public.

    Ability to read and interpret policies related to academic programs and student requirements for participation in various programs.

    Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office setting with appropriate climate control. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.

    Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

    Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met

    Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
