    Job Purpose

    The Marketing Specialist position will assist in marketing and increasing sales for the Olympic Sales Marketing Group. This candidate must have the ability to interface with internal constituencies (sales, management, research, production, and legal) in order to secure requisite input/approvals for business opportunities. Individual must also have the ability to interface with external customers (advertisers, agencies) and translate the needs of the target brand into “sellable” programs that generate revenue for NBC Universal.

    This candidate will also be responsible for the management/upkeep of various financial documents as it relates to NBC’s advertising sales for the Olympics. The Marketing Specialist will be tasked with creating and updating monthly pacing documents, categorical spending charts, and more. The ability to build and maintain all financial documents is imperative.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Partner with sales and research to customize presentations for client calls
    • Work with sales management to update & develop multiple finance related documents
    • Ability to understand and intelligently speak to research metrics used in the development of sales stories
    • Proactively identify sponsorable opportunities that align with clients’ brand/marketing objectives
    • Develop and execute 360 marketing programs that help drive revenue for NBCUniversal and the Olympics
    • Analyze competitive spending patterns
    • Interface with sales personnel to translate client needs into sellable partnerships
    • Report back to Olympic advertisers showcasing how the Olympics helped drive key KPI’s
    • Day to day management of sales marketing budget

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3+ years of experience at an agency, media company, sales organization or in research, where the individual was responsible for presentation, creative and promotion development.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to analyze research metrics and translate into sales storylines
    • Business writing skills including presentation development
    • Understanding of the sponsorship development process
    • Familiarity with the development and execution of 360 marketing programs
    • Understanding of the promotion development and execution process and experience executing promotions.
    • Strong interpersonal skills - with internal and external clients
    • Knowledge of media marketing, the sales process and media in general
    • Thorough knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc and presentation proficiencies

    Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
