Position Overview:

The Prekindergarten Teacher will be responsible for creating a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 3-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification, and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in young students.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with MSDE standards.

Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports social-emotional and academic growth.

Assess and document student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs.

Collaborate with families to support student learning and development through regular communication and conferences.

Maintain compliance with all MSDE licensing and accreditation requirements.

Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to enhance the learning experience.

Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

MSDE Early Childhood Education Certification (Required).

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Experience working with preschool-aged children.

Strong understanding of early childhood developmental milestones and instructional strategies.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Passion for creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a diverse, inclusive classroom setting.

CPR and First Aid Certification.
