    Job Description

    The Master Data Specialist has an active role in master data management and governance. The primary responsibility of this position is the creation, review, and maintenance of customer, material and vendor master data. These integral items are a part of a departmental effort to coordinate accurate incoming data. Requires direct, cross-functional collaboration, identification, root cause analysis and problem solving of discrepancies with Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, Operations, FSQ, IT, Research and Development and Procurement Team Members and external vendors, on an ongoing basis, to assure the customer, material and vendor master data and related details are obtained and maintained accurately. This team and its important processes contribute toward the success and “speed to market” of new product development.

    The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Build and maintain master data (Customer, Material and Vendor) records, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
    • Ensures harmonization of data governance framework vs. practices as well as consistent usage of tools across the business
    • Responsible for accurately creating, updating and maintaining master data. Effectively communicate to departments affected by the changes to the master data.
    • Manage all Jack Links master data email boxes (including, but not limited to: Customer, all Material
    • Receive and handle master data maintenance requests and questions from other departments.
    • Learn and understand master data governance and business strategies to improve data management
    • Utilize PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) tools
    • Research and propose solutions for issues encountered with master data. Analyze and improve data quality, as defined.
    • Ensure all customer and vendor information is managed consistently and according to the governance processes, policies, and procedures. Collaborate and problem solve with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure the data is current and accurate. Maintain and manage confidential and sensitive information and data.
    • Work closely with the Purchasing department to obtain costing and other details for new items.
    • Assigning UPC codes and publish data to our customers through the Global Network according to GDSN processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional and direct Team Members to develop processes and standards.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

    Required Experience:

    • Strong computer skills (SAP, Excel, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of Sales Performance Tool (SPT)
    • Experience and training in SAP, GTIN, and GDSN standards
    • Strong mathematical skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of leadership and Team Members.
    • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.
    • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw and communicate valid conclusions for strategic decision making.
    • Receive projects, prioritize, plan, and complete job functions and projects with little supervision. Ability to evaluate priorities and able to transition when priorities change.
    • Analyze and contribute to better methods for completing job duties and process improvement. Partners with Team Members to design and implement changes.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    Preferred:

    • Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
    • Proficient in SAP (all instances of Master Data)

    Additional Information

    The salary range for this Minong-based role is $46,300 - $63,690 (Annually); the salary range for this Minneapolis-based role is $52,200 - $71,200 (Annually). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
