    Job Summary:

    The Curriculum Coordinator/Coach is responsible for designing, implementing, and refining the curriculum to meet educational standards while providing coaching and professional development opportunities for teachers. This role emphasizes a collaborative approach to improve teaching and learning, supporting teachers with resources, strategies, and continuous professional training. Additionally, the Curriculum Coordinator/Coach will participate as part of ratio for part of the day, working directly with students or staff to provide additional support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Curriculum Coordination:

    Design and Develop Curriculum: Develop, evaluate, and modify curriculum materials that align with state/national standards and best practices.

    Curriculum Alignment: Ensure that the curriculum is consistent across grade levels and subjects and supports the school’s mission and educational goals.

    Resource Selection: Identify, review, and recommend instructional resources, textbooks, and digital tools to support curriculum delivery.

    Coaching and Teacher Support:

    Classroom Observation and Feedback: Conduct regular classroom observations to provide constructive feedback on teaching practices and curriculum implementation.

    Individual Coaching: Work one-on-one with teachers to identify areas of growth, develop personalized action plans, and support them in applying effective instructional strategies.

    Peer Collaboration: Foster a collaborative culture by organizing group coaching sessions, team meetings, and professional learning communities.

    Training and Professional Development:

    Provide Ongoing Training: Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars to equip teachers with current educational trends, instructional strategies, and new curriculum developments.

    Keep Teachers Updated: Ensure that teachers are informed and up to date on the latest teaching methods, educational technologies, and state/national curriculum changes through regular updates and professional development opportunities.

    Track Teacher Progress: Monitor teachers' participation in professional development, training, and keep records to ensure that they are meeting ongoing professional learning requirements.

    Encourage Lifelong Learning: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging teachers to engage in professional learning opportunities and pursue advanced training or certification when appropriate.

    Data Analysis and Improvement:

    Monitor Student Performance: Analyze student data, including assessments and test results, to determine the effectiveness of the curriculum and teaching strategies.

    Adjust Curriculum: Use data and feedback from teachers and students to make adjustments or improvements to the curriculum.

    Evaluate Teaching Methods: Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional methods and provide teachers with strategies for enhancing student outcomes.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers, department heads, and administrators to ensure the curriculum is being implemented effectively and to address challenges.

    Support School Initiatives: Assist in the implementation of school-wide initiatives related to instructional improvement, technology integration, or other educational goals.

    Facilitate Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with administrators, parents, and other stakeholders about curriculum developments and progress.

    Compliance and Reporting:

    Ensure Standards Compliance: Ensure that the curriculum meets district, state, and federal education standards and mandates.

    Provide Reports: Prepare reports and presentations on curriculum development, teacher progress, and student achievement for school leadership and stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

    A valid teaching credential or certification.

    Proven experience as a classroom teacher with expertise in instructional strategies.

    Experience in curriculum design, development, and assessment.

    Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.

    Familiarity with educational technology and data analysis tools.

    Experience working in hybrid or flexible learning environments is a plus.

    Desired Skills:
