    Job Description

    As a Material Servicer- Basement you will be working in the basement handling domestic cullet (recycled glass) from the manufacturing floor while using mechanical principles and properties of various material.

    The Material Servicer will:

    • Follow all department and plant SOPs and policies.
    • Maintain cullet shakers in basement.
    • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles, properties of various materials, principles of operation and application of equipment such as motors, switches, generators, conveyors, machinery, etc.
    • Help receive and unload raw materials from rail cars.
    • Help receive and unload foreign cullet from vendors.
    • Assist shift mechanics in major repairs.
    • Haul cullet from Basement or other plant locations to yard storage. May operate bob cat to scoop batch materials or cullet when necessary. May use sledge hammer to crush big blocks of molten glass in pits to strain.
    • Haul and load purchased, yard, processed and basement cullet to cullet crusher or to storage area or inventory bins.
    • Clean up control rooms, empty all trash cans and performs good housekeeping practices in the basement.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Previous forklift experience
    • Be highly safety conscious
    • A desire to learn and grow within our industry
