    Part-Time Tutor – Math Center

    Terms of Employment: Contracted

    Hourly Rate: $14.00 per hour

    FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

    The Academic Support Center is seeking students with the ability to tutor for both 100- and 200-level math courses. If there is not a specific vacancy at this time, your information will be available to the hiring manager for possible future consideration.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain world class customer service to students, staff, and faculty.
    • Provide individual and/or small group tutoring sessions.
    • High ability to multi-task.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Be able to tutor students in the subject (s) approved.
    • Provide a professional image of SC4.
    • Maintain accurate record of tutoring sessions.
    • Perform other duties as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Overall “3.3” or higher GPA in math courses.
    • An “A” or “B” in all college-level math courses.
    • Knowledge of course content and ability to adapt tutoring to tutees’ learning style.
    • Ability to work as a team.
    • Ability to be punctual, responsible, and flexible.
    • High degree of social and communication skills.
    • Proof of degree if applicable.

    REQUIREMENTS: 

     

    • CDL required.  Must be able to obtain passenger and air brake endorsements prior to hire
    • Must be able to pass required DOT physical, drug and alcohol tests, and back screen
    • Possess a clean driving record, this will be checked thoroughly
    • Must have smart phone or tablet for the ELD system
    • Must be a careful, patient, non-aggressive driver with an excellent driving record, with adept defensive driving techniques and must have the ability to maneuver a motorcoach in tight places without any incidents or damage
    • High School diploma or GED preferred
    • Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times, regardless of the circumstances
    • Ability to maintain a professional appearance
    • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
    • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds repetitively
