Helps students in developmental math and general studies math courses develop the learning, study, and problem-solving skills to prepare for homework and tests and success in math coursework.
This is a part-time position for 19 hours per week or fewer.
The pay rate for this position is $23.00/Hour.
Responsibilities:
70% Provides group instruction and one on one tutoring.
5% Assists students in selecting and using available resources in the math lab.
5% Assists students in the use of scientific calculators and computers.
5% Monitors day-to-day activities in the lab.
5% Helps maintain a clean lab.
5% Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acts (FERPA).
5% Performs other related duties as assigned by Math Hub Coordinator.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field is required.
Up to six months of similar or related experience is required.
Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors, or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Proven commitment to student success.
Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
Ability to clearly communicate and explain familiar and new concepts to students of varying academic backgrounds and levels of mathematics
Patience and encouragement when working with students.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
