    Job Description

    THE OPPORTUNITY: 

    Mattel, Inc. is seeking an experienced Hair Stylist and self-motivated Hair Designer to join Hair Design Team.  The group is focused on supporting the creation of new product opportunities for Barbie & Dolls divisions; by understanding the consumer, trends and that are then translated into successful product. This involves creating and communicating hair styles that support toy concepts in 2D and/or 3D models to design and marketing management. The ideal candidate will possess hair styling knowledge and dexterity to create on doll scale.   Possess ability to work on challenging and fun products as well as ideating new concepts with partners.

    WHAT YOUR IMPACT WILL BE:

    • Actively support new hair designs to enhance the brand
    • Execute on Product Design’s direction.
    • Successfully present and communicate their concepts to the design and other creative departments
    • Manage the early phases of design and development with other disciplines within the company
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

    • 2+ years of hair styling experience
    • Some experience/interest with sewing on machines
    • Understanding hair color & blends
    • Proficient in Photoshop and Office 365
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
    • Ability to project manage in a fast-paced environment
    • Ideal candidate will exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends.
    • Portfolio demonstrating design excellence and problem solving
