Chef Matthew Medure’s flagship restaurant, Matthew’s Restaurant is one of Northeast Florida’s most distinctive restaurants located in the heart of Historic San Marco. Since its debut in 1997, Matthew's has earned numerous accolades including Mobil Four Star Travel Guide, AAA Four Diamond, and Florida Trends Fine Dining Hall of Fame.
Matthew’s unique menu includes three culinary experiences including an a la carte menu, a six-course nightly tasting menu and creative bar treats.
Our Pastry Chefs work alongside the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs to keep the entire kitchen functioning properly. We are looking for creative individuals who have artistic abilities to decorate visually appealing desserts for our guests.
Essential Job Duties:
Preparing, measuring, mixing, cooking, baking, and executing recipes from scratch including breads, pastries, and desserts
Plating desserts as well as cheese and charcuterie during dinner service
Upholding sanitation standards for food preparation, clean working conditions, and maintaining organized pastry stations and equipment
Ordering necessary ingredients and maintaining inventory sheets
Communicating with front of house staff
Willingness to work with others to provide the highest level of hospitality
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in the pastry arts - 2+ years
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Ability to follow recipes precisely
Positive attitude and motivation to create exceptional desserts
Ability to adapt and learn quickly
Willingness to learn and grow
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field desirable
