Risk Analyst

ABOUT MAVERICK:

Maverick Payments is a full-service payment processor located in Calabasas, CA, that handles all underwriting, onboarding, risk, and compliance in-house. Maverick Payments specializes in electronic payments and leading business management software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Review / analyze daily, weekly, monthly merchant activity for increased credit risk, transactional variations, dispute activity, and fraud patterns.

· Proactively monitor all merchant activities for compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

· Investigate abnormal processing patterns and recommend appropriate actions.

· Review / analyze financial, credit and publicly available information to support actions and decisions.

· Assess and evaluate business model risk and exposure by evaluating merchant industry type, processing volume, refunds volume, delivery time frames and disputes.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Answer internal and external inquiries specific to risk.

· Assist with projects related to risk management / loss prevention and other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

· College degree preferred.

· 2-5 years prior experience in Risk Management within acquiring industry.

· Understanding of emerging technologies and trends in payments space.

· Familiarity with various tools used for risk management (TSYS, Merlink, E-connections, G2, Legit Script, MasterCard Connect, etc.)

· Understanding of Card Brand rules and regulations.

· Understanding of various verticals and associated risks.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent time management skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excel experience a must.
