Job Description & Agreement Overview:
LFAC Support Team Members (FT) will work approximately 32-40 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Their primary responsibility is to ensure timely and efficient packaging and delivery of food boxes that support the overall Mission of McDowell LFAC as well as other programs of McDowell LFAC. LFAC Support Team Members must be at least 21 years old and continuously hold a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· The LFAC Support Team members work together to facilitate the mission of McDowell LFAC programs.
· The LFAC Support Team members will pack a variety of boxes to include but not limited to healthy food boxes, distribution boxes, FarmsShare boxes.
· The LFAC Support Team members will deliver the food boxes to community members and other community stakeholders as assigned by their supervisor.
· The LFAC Support Team member will ensure all data is kept confidential and all clients are treated in a respectful manner.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will safely engage with HOP clients at deliveries to support relationship building, helping to identify needs from HOP members, as well as identify individual needs. The LFAC Support Team Member will report any client needs to the HOP Coordinator.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will follow proper food safety protocols when handling and delivering food products.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will perform weekly inventory counts.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will assist in vehicle loading and unloading.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will accurately track the deliveries they complete within the provided routing software. This also includes uploading photos of deliveries.
· The LFAC Support Team Member must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance. The LFAC Support Team Member will notify the Operations Manager immediately if there is a lapse in coverage, a loss of driving privileges, or a traffic infraction that has occurred. Failure to report any of the above will result in immediate termination.
· The LFAC Support Team Member will communicate with clients while the vehicle is stopped via text or phone call to inform them of their delivery day and time.
· LFAC Support Team Members are employees of McDowell LFAC and are subject to supporting any programs that fall under McDowell LFAC that support food delivery/distribution to homes, businesses, & community events or stakeholders, sourcing, & packaging. This list is not exclusive to the programs or duties that McDowell LFAC team members may be assigned to support.
· Other duties as assigned by the HOP Coordinator, Operations Manager or Executive Director to carry out the business of McDowell LFAC. Physical / Interpersonal Requirements:
This position requires standing, riding, sitting, driving of a refrigerated van/truck, box truck, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, stepping in and out of vehicles, reaching, bending, stooping, walking etc. for up to 8 hours daily. Task are performed in all weather conditions as well as a Warehouse environment. Typing and/or writing (emails, notes, reports, etc.) may also be required. Utilization of routing software and GPS based services in the delivery of items as well as other electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, copy machines and other office equipment. LFAC Support Team Members will be expected to interact with the General Public and engage with individuals seeking assistance with deliveries. They will also interact and engage with Food Hub volunteers. At times, LFAC Support Team Members may be asked to assist Food Hub volunteers understand warehouse safety and understanding of task volunteers are performing while at Foothills Food Hub. LFAC Support Team Members will attend occasional outreach events where they will engage with the community and educate them on the program. Expectations:
LFAC Support Team Members will arrive on time / early as needed for shifts at the Food Hub, community distributions, etc. LFAC Support Team Members must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings and some evenings (on some distribution nights Food Hub staff and volunteers do not complete their tasks until 6:30 pm). LFAC Support Team Members will treat volunteers, staff, and individuals and families attending community distributions with kindness and respect. LFAC Support Team Members will abide by policies and procedures set forth by Impact Health, the Local Food Advisory Council, and Foothills Food Hub. This also includes food safety training from our partner MANNA food bank. LFAC Support Team Members understand that they are representatives of the Local Food Advisory Council and Foothills Food Hub in the community and will present themselves in a way that reflects these organizations' values.
