    Job Description

and customers, and other internal functions. This is a growth opportunity in Mechanical Design and Mechanical Engineering. The position directly contributes to the mechanical design and engineering of RF/microwave assemblies for various applications such as multi-function RF assemblies, antennas, positioners, and control devices. The role includes designing products by addressing interrelationship constraints between circuitry, connectors, motorized assemblies, and enclosures, ensuring they meet electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements (i.e., electronics packaging).

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    Design & Engineering:

    • Create detailed technical solid models and drawings using SOLIDWORKS®, including the maintenance of legacy documentation using AutoCAD® (2D and 3D).
    • Utilize knowledge of electromechanical components (motors, gears, bearings, connectors, PCBs, cables) for designs and documentation.
    • Consider product performance factors, including RF, environmental conditions, cost, and the use of the latest packaging technologies.
    • Apply advanced technical concepts in the development of microwave products and manufacturing fixturing.
    • Learn and apply mechanical calculations and assist with or perform analysis.
    • Stay updated on industry codes, standards, and established design criteria.
    • Develop and maintain mechanical designs and subassemblies, performing analysis of design alternatives and ensuring thermal, structural, and manufacturability considerations.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental policies, and U.S. export control and security regulations.

    Documentation & Compliance:

    • Develop and update parts, BOMs, drawings, and documents through PLM systems utilizing formal Change Orders/Notices.
    • Review and provide oversight for engineering documentation, CAD models, and drawings, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and specifications.
    • Support preparation of engineering documentation and specifications for procurement.
    • Identify and resolve design-related issues, including missing information or documentation gaps sourced from engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and customer input.

    Project Management & Planning:

    • Organize daily work into tasks and activities to address design and project requirements effectively.
    • Become familiar with project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and work scopes.
    • Perform additional tasks as required by the organization.
