    Sphere Mechanical Corp. is on the hunt for a Mechanical Design Estimator who loves diving into numbers, analyzing blueprints, and turning complex project details into accurate cost estimates. If you have a talent for mechanical design, a sharp eye for details, and the skills to optimize costs without sacrificing quality, we want you on our team! You'll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and vendors to bring projects to life—efficiently and cost-effectively. This position is located in-person at our Escondido, CA. Location. Opportunity for flex Friday! Responsibilities: • Review engineering blueprints, specifications, and project documents to assess scope and requirements. • Research and source materials, compare supplier pricing, and estimate total material costs. • Calculate labor hours, factoring in skill levels, experience, and labor rates. • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, permits, and overhead. • Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure accurate estimations. • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to identify cost-effective solutions. • Develop cost-saving strategies to optimize resources without compromising quality. • Track project costs against initial estimates and adjust as needed. • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain competitive estimates. Qualifications: • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design, estimating, or related fields. • Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes. • Proficiency in CAD software and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills for accurate cost assessments. • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with various stakeholders. • Attention to detail and experience with estimating software/tools. Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000
