    Mechanical Designer
    Shakopee, MN | Direct Hire | $27.00/hr-$35.00/hr | 100% Onsite
    Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing client that is looking to add a Mechanical Designer to their team. This role involves developing and maintaining engineering drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and manufacturing routers to support production efficiency and accuracy.

    This position requires significant computer-based design work, primarily using SolidWorks, and involves both independent tasks and collaborative efforts with engineers, manufacturing teams, and management. The Mechanical Designer plays a key role in ensuring product quality, consistency, and on-time delivery by maintaining precise engineering documentation.

    Mechanical Designer Responsibilities

    • Utilize SolidWorks to create, update, and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings that align with engineering and customer specifications.
    • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure design accuracy and continuous product improvement.
    • Generate accurate and structured Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routers to streamline production processes.
    • Ensure that engineering and manufacturing drawings comply with company standards, industry best practices, and customer requirements.
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, working independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with a high degree of precision.
    • Support the company’s safety culture, adhering to all PPE guidelines and safety protocols when working on or near the production floor.
    • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, assisting in troubleshooting and design-related inquiries.
    • Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisors or management

    Mechanical Designer Requirements

    • Associate degree in Mechanical Design
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting and design.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing standards, and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience in sheet metal design is preferred but not mandatory.
    • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) Vault is a plus.
    • Prior experience using Epicor ERP software is advantageous but not required.
