We recently launched and operated the first American lunar lander mission since the Apollo Program. Established in 2007, Astrobotic is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, with a propulsion and test campus in Mojave, CA.
The Mechanical Engineer will develop, build, and test a variety of mechanical systems and structures. These will include (but are not limited to) ground support equipment, primary and secondary structure, and avionics boxes. You will work across the entire product life cycle - proposal, design, prototyping, analysis, testing, and operations to decrease the cost of accessing the Moon. You will provide regular progress updates to the Structures, Analysis, and Mechanism manager on progress.
Note: This position may be filled at multiple levels. This is initially a contract position with potential to convert to direct employment for candidates located in or willing to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA. Remote work is possible for exceptional candidates, but would remain as a contract position without relocation.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience. Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic's competitive total rewards strategy.
