Mechanical Engineering Draftsman
Dumpster Manufacturing Company seeking qualified mechanical engineer/draftsman to lead engineering and product development. The company is expanding and will grow through acquisitions and organic growth.
The role requires a proactive and ambitious engineer with strong foundational engineering skills and the capacity to learn new skills and solve problems. The mechanical engineer/draftsmen will be responsible for performing engineering design calculations and preparing engineering design documentation for manufacturing. In addition, the role will require frequent collaboration with the others both internally and with customers to ensure a high quality, comprehensive designs result in the highest performing products. There will be opportunities to grow and learn beyond the traditional mechanical engineering role and responsibilities, including working across disciplines, performing project engineering tasks, and providing supplemental project management support.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Create detailed layouts for products
· Communicate with Sales and internal resources to understand their specifications
· Use CAD software to create accurate blueprints SolidWorks Simulation for production and product development
· Develop prototypes to make modifications
· Work with purchasing to create Bills of Materials
· Improvements in productivity and lowering of COGS
Review processes and procedures to support manufacturing, satisfy project design requirements related to mechanical engineering.
Apply appropriate codes and engineering standards in the design and execution of assigned work
Create and Maintain project schedules, Excellent organization skills, Improve quality and efficiency
Acquires, uses, and continuously develops personal technical and professional knowledge of products and general managerial skills to assist customers and other company personnel
Proven ability to provide solutions to moderately complex engineering problems
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of one year of experience.
Experience in project engineering or design engineering with some experience or familiarity in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing, welding, specification preparation, structural analysis, mechanical design, testing and field support.
Experience with steel, non-ferrous materials, composites and plastics
Effective technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking skills, creativity and innovation, challenges the status quo, willing to push the envelope and think outside the box.
Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders to drive execution of work on time and on-budget.
