Responsibilities: SMSI is seeking a driven and innovative individual for full-time employment at our Springfield, MO location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and experience in various areas such as engineering, fabrication, construction, and service practices in Refrigeration, HVAC, Piping, and Electrical/Controls. Additionally, they will gain exposure to a wide range of professional technical skills and methods. • Utilizing engineering knowledge for the successful completion of ongoing projects. • Meeting project objectives within designated timelines and criteria. • Participating in departmental and corporate meetings. • Learning to interpret project documents. • Gaining and sharing job site experiences • Enhancing professional communication and collaboration skills. • Utilizing industry software to design drawings. • Developing listening skills. • Generating reports and conducting calculations. • Grasping and implementing methodologies for engineering and project execution. • Utilizing data in practical scenarios. • Applying design Codes and Standards. • Cultivating the ability to think critically and apply it in practical situations. • Possessing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Illustrating a proven record of academic excellence, resourcefulness, honesty, and hard work. • Demonstrating proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint, email, spreadsheets, AutoCAD and/or Revit. • Possessing knowledge of Revit or BIM (preferred but not required). Qualifications: • Applicants must have a BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution and be eligible to take the Engineering Intern Exam. • Applicant must be able to display a track record of exceptional academic achievements, ingenuity, integrity, and perseverance. • Applicants must demonstrate competency with word processing, PowerPoint, email, spreadsheets, AutoCAD, and/or Revit. • Familiarity with Revit or BIM is preferable but not essential. • Travel to various job sites and other locations is required occasionally. Compensation: $55,000 DOE
