SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed mechanical engineering assessments for disaster recovery projects.
- Conduct site inspections to evaluate infrastructure damage and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost-effective and sustainable engineering strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, including Determination Memorandums and Appeals, to support FEMA grant applications.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal for documentation and project tracking.
- Ensure compliance with FEMA Public Assistance guidelines and industry standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for program delivery teams and ensure alignment with project goals.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5 years of professional experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) registration; or
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, disaster recovery programs, and FEMA grant processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
