Description: This is a technical co-op. The co-op performs assignments which have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Responsibilities:
- Works in a safe manner at all times. Adheres to both Matrix and client established safety standards when appropriate.
- Acts in a support role to the project engineer or technical lead. Assigned small tasks which are checked upon completion and before moving onto the next task.
- Works with more experienced project team members or design projects.
- Generate CAD drawings based on detailed design provided by an experienced project team member.
- Follow company design standards.
- Identify and use appropriate tool for each application.
Specifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be a college student enrolled in an accredited ABET mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology degree program.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs.
- This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens.
