    Weekend Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Chattanooga, TN

    Emerge is recruiting qualified candidates for a direct-hire Weekend Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician job in Chattanooga, TN for our client, a busy manufacturer of quality forged products.

    The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of general manufacturing maintenance duties in a hot, dry environment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as ovens, forges, presses, and facilities. The technician will troubleshoot, install, dismantle, repair, and maintain machinery by completing preventive maintenance and necessary repairs.

    This is a 1st shift, weekend position (Friday – Sunday, 12-hour shifts - 5:30 am to 6:30 pm).

    Our client offers:
      ~Pay: $28 - $34 plus per hour based on experience
      ~Shift premium: $1.00 per hour
      ~Excellent benefits package starting Day 1
      ~Training: Must be able to train on 1st shift for the first month

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, furnaces, presses, and facilities
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
    • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
    • Manage inventory of equipment parts and supplies, placing orders as needed

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required (Trade school education is a plus!)
    • 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience (Forge or heat-treating facility experience preferred)
    • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must be able to work overtime on Thursdays if needed
    • Ability to pass client background checks
    • Must meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements, meaning U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)
