Chief Detective is looking for an ambitious and driven online marketer to help our clients—fast-growing startups and large retail companies—scale revenue and acquisition aggressively via Meta (Facebook & Instagram) advertising.
We're a top agency on Meta, specializing in ecommerce and working with direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands in apparel, beauty, lifestyle, and more. Representative clients include Jenni Kayne, Ursa Major, Merit Beauty, Frank & Eileen, and TOMS Shoes.
We're seeking a highly-driven and skilled Media Buyer to manage a portfolio of Meta ad accounts. This role will be responsible for creating and optimizing media plans, developing creative strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth and meet client goals. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role with high growth potential, requiring adaptability and an entrepreneurial mindset to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Campaign Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with Growth Partners, Directors and media buyers on other channels to translate client business objectives into actionable paid media strategies on Meta (Facebook & Instagram).
- Media Buying & Optimization: Launch, manage, and optimize campaigns to meet and exceed KPI targets. Perform daily management of ad spend and pacing to ensure budget adherence.
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with internal creative strategy partners to request and provide feedback on ad creatives and ensure alignment with performance goals and trends.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and interpret data across platforms (Meta Ads Manager, GA4, Shopify, Looker Studio, etc.) to evaluate campaign performance and impact. Generate performance reports and present critical insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Platform & Trend Expertise: Stay informed of Meta's evolving platform features, updates, and trends. Document and share best practices with internal stakeholders and client teams.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on Meta ad performance, insights, and strategic recommendations on a regular basis, including developing reports and running update calls.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience with Meta ads (Facebook & Instagram)
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing large budgets across campaigns
- Able to drive creative strategy on Meta ad accounts, including developing creative and content pipelines, ad concepting, and briefing to quickly scale accounts
- Familiar with creative best practices on Meta, including image, video, and copy requirements
- Proficient in multi-channel attribution and tracking across paid media platforms, with expertise in configuring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting data and attribution issues
- Familiarity or experience with other paid channels (TikTok, Pinterest, Google) is a plus

- Able to manage media, reporting, and communication across a portfolio of accounts simultaneously
- Strong data and analytical skills with experience generating performance reports and insights

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000–$80,000
