We are an established medical and cosmetic dermatology practice seeking a Medical Assistant for our professional, fast paced, team-oriented office. Must be dependable, hard working with a special attention to detail and a positive, friendly attitude. Ideal candidate is also sales and computer savvy.
This is a Tuesday - Saturday position.
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting providers with patient care; assisting with biopsies, suture removal, blood draw and select surgery procedures. Other responsibilities include patient education on cosmetic procedures and skincare.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, certified CMA required
1 year of dermatology experience required
Basic computer skills and experience with EMR required
Phlebotomy

Responsibilities:
Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times. Obtains short history as required by patient’s chief complaint. Obtains or updates medication list if necessary. Sets up exam room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate provider needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely. Confirms the reason for patient’s visit.
Confirms all required consents are presented, read, and signed by patients prior to provider entering the exam room.
Assists providers with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, cryo therapy, laser surgery, etc.
Assists providers with cosmetic procedures, Botox/Dysport, fillers and cosmetic lasers
Educates patient as required after physician establishes the treatment plan. Ensures that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and understands their responsibility for compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office.
Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits.
Performs nursing procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, cyst injections and blood draws without direct physician supervision.
Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisitions as required by physician.
Assures photographs are taken prior to any treatment.
Stocks all exam rooms.
Performs all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.
