Job Description: We are seeking a full time Medical Assistant with experience in Allergy and Immunology to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting physicians and physician assistants in patient care, administrative duties, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.
The clinic is open Monday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm with the intent to open on Fridays by no later than early Summer. Anticipated Friday hours would be 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy treatments.
Monitor patients for allergic reactions.
Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and documenting in the electronic health record (EHR).
Prepare and administer allergy tests, skin prick tests, and pulmonary function tests under physician supervision.
Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and provide patient education on treatment plans.
Assist in performing office-based procedures related to allergy and immunology care.
Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
Handle patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage prior authorizations for medications and treatments.
Ensure compliance with clinic policies, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
Manage medical inventory, sterilize equipment, and maintain exam rooms.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in allergy and immunology preferred.
Knowledge of allergy testing procedures, immunotherapy, and common allergic conditions preferred.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (eClinicalworks use is a plus).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
