    ENT Practice in Webster is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team!!

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside Physicians and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience. You will be responsible for providing quality patient care and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of our busy ENT office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment

    Clean instruments and equipment after use

    Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs. Performs phone triage, patient calls, pharmacy calls, and order follow ups.

    Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties

    Provides Direct and Indirect care of patients under the direction of the Physician(s), Physician Assistant(s), or Clinical Supervisor

    Follows office policies, procedures, and protocols as appropriate or assigned

    Communicates effectively with patients, other employees, and Physicians

    Escorts patients to exam rooms in order to obtain/document medical history or information related to visit, measures vital signs, and accurately documents all information in patient chart via EMR system.

    Ensures all related reports, labs, and information is scanned and available in patient’s medical record PRIOR to appointment.

    Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts via the EMR system

    Responsible for maintaining patient, employee, and clinic confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

    Assist with medical exams, office procedures, administers medications or injections, and provides patient education as directed

    Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments including preparation and maintenance of supplies, equipment and any instruments needed. Includes cleaning and sterilization. Responsible for reporting any improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.

    Follows OSHA regulations and safety guidelines of the practice.

    Ability to complete all activities accurately, with high attention to detail and in a timely manner.

    Expected to be cross-trained to assist the Allergy Department. Duties may include but not limited to: Immunotherapy injections, Allergy Testing, Immunotherapy vial mixing procedures, and maintaining the Immunotherapy room with necessary supplies. Assures patient stays for the required observation time after injection(s). Reacts appropriately in the event of patient reaction situations; informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.

    Performs any other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Practice Manager, or Physician(s)

    Skills

    Knowledge of basic medical terminology

    Proven working experience as a medical assistant

    Knowledge of medical office EMR systems

    Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Strong organizational and planning skills

    Must be self directed and able to work independently without constant direction. Must also be a team player who will step in to help when and where needed for the benefit of the office.

    Bilingual Strongly Preferred

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

    CPR Certification or willing to obtain

    Excellent customer service skills

    Strong attention to detail

    Allergy and/or ENT experience a plus*
