Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant
Monterey plastic surgeon’s office is seeking a Medical Assistant with exceptional communication skills, initiative and ability to care for patients with reconstructive surgery needs. The practice specializes in cosmetic surgeries, injectables and aesthetics.
Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:
· Be available as needed to assist surgeon with patients.
· Documents every patient visit in medical record system, listing key observations and elements of each patient’s office visit.
· Self-educates and becomes knowledgeable about scheduling cases, including pricing, insurance, patient instructions and calendar for both insurance and cosmetic cases.
· Assists surgeon with evaluation and treatment. Attends to wounds and injuries as directed by the surgeon, including application of dressings, removal of stitches, staples, etc.
· Assists with in-office procedures as directed by surgeon.
· Coordinates the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and surgeon.
· Performs all duties and responsibilities in an efficient, team-oriented manner, including cross-training in receptionist duties for seamless appearance to patients.
· Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication with surgeon, patients and co-workers.
· Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities including adhering to office protocols regarding patient check-in, emergencies, patient anxieties and reception area/treatment room maintenance per CDC guidelines.
· Cleans, maintains and prepares surgical instruments and autoclave.
· Conducts and presents self in a neat and professional manner reflecting positively on the practice.
· Observes strict patient confidentiality.
· Follows-up and responds to flagged items from co-workers, administration, billing and surgeon. Follow up and respond to faxes, emails and any other correspondence within 24 hours or next business day.
· Answers phone calls, retrieves voicemails regularly and return phone calls within 24 hours or next business day.
· Assists with office coverage of coworkers’ time off requests as directed by administration.
· Performs general cleaning duties as needed in treatment areas, reception areas and employee areas per CDC guidelines.
· Participates in training of new employees as needed or directed.
· Restocks exam rooms, including all drawers and treatment trays.
· Maintains medical supplies inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs, ensuring outdated medications and supplies are properly disposed.
· Manages and organizes patient photo files and Vectra Computer imager
Assists with monthly educational seminars as scheduled, mandatory presence required.
· Other duties as assigned by the surgeon or administration.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm AND Friday 8:30am – 3:00pm
Occasional evenings for educational seminars.
Compensation: $20-$22/hour DOE Potential for incentives and bonuses

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certificate
Experienced and enthusiastic regarding protocols for sterility, cleanliness and sanitizing
Familiarity with medical records systems - preferably DrChrono
Familiarity with Vectra imaging preferred
Microsoft Office and Apple software mandatory
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Social Media aptitude
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
