    Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois (FASI) is an established medical and surgical podiatry practice located in Algonquin, IL. We are looking to add a Certified Medical Assistant with at least 3+ years’ of experience to our team.     What you will be doing:

    Moving in and out of the rooms actively delivering hands-on chairside patient care in the exam rooms

    Being on your feet for the majority of the day

    Taking x-rays, medical histories, and vital signs

    Preparing patients for examination and assisting the physician during the examination

    Explaining treatment procedures and patient education as directed by podiatrist

    Measuring for diabetic shoes

    Removing sutures and changing dressings

    Arranging room instruments and equipment

    Maintaining supplies and equipment/inventory control and stocking

    Cleaning and maintenance of office equipment and areas

    Reviewing the daily schedule and helping manage the “flow” of the clinic

    Participating in huddles, debriefs, and team meetings

    Learning new procedures, processes, and protocols

    Creating/managing templates in the electronic medical records system

    Scribing for doctors in the exam room

    Handling paperwork related to procedure scheduling at various facilities

    Training other team members as needed and requested by management

    Covering the front desk as needed (phones, scheduling, registration, check-in/out, handling money)

    Verifying insurance coverage and calculating/documenting patient responsibility

    Managing office emergencies

    Handling any other duties (and special projects) as assigned by doctors or management

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma

    Minimum 3 years experience in a busy healthcare setting (required)

    Minimum 3 years experience using medical patient care software or EMR platforms such as e-clinical works, next-gen office, Athena, epic, or other similar systems.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products Outlook e-mail, excel, etc

    Willingness to learn and collaborate

    Excellent communication and writing skills

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Generally $20 to $24 /hrr

    Commute to one location only!
