Full time medical assistant for a busy 5 provider dermatology practice. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will work under the supervision of a dermatology provider and lead medical assistant.
You will navigate the providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, education and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely professional manner.
Requirements:
Ability to courteously escort patients to the examination room.
Scribing accurately the encounter in the EHR while the provider conducts the patient exam.
Competently and accurately prepare pathology and laboratory specimens.
Prepare necessary surgical dressing and instruct patient in post-operative wound care, such as dressing changes and appropriate use of medications.
Provide wound care checks, dressing changes, suture removal and assist with surgical and cosmetic procedures as directed by the provider.
Preparing and maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures. Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
Obtain prior authorizations.
Organizational skills needed.
Education:
Current medical assistant certificate preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum of three years as a medical assistant preferred. Experience with EHR and web based scheduling is a plus.
