Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa practice seeking a Medical Assistant. This key position requires a high-level multi-tasking, a fresh open and sociable demeanor, computer and phone skills.
Medical Assisting Duties
Assist the surgeon during consultations, procedures, and post-operative care.
Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and assisting with pre-operative testing.
Perform wound care, suture removal, dressing changes, and other clinical tasks.
Educate patients on procedures, pre/post-operative instructions, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Capture and manage pre-op, post-op, and progress photographs.
Manage and track inventory of medical supplies, ensuring rooms are stocked and organized.
Ensure patient rooms and procedure areas meet infection control and safety standards.
Front Desk Responsibilities
Greet patients with a professional, friendly demeanor and provide outstanding customer service.
Answer and manage multiple phone lines, addressing patient inquiries and scheduling appointments.
Coordinate patient flow by ensuring charts, schedules, and materials are prepared for consultations and procedures.
Handle check-ins, check-outs, and payment processing for procedures and services.
Assist with appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of waiting areas and front office spaces.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a plastic surgery or similar medical setting.
Strong proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities to manage both clinical and administrative duties.
Friendly, professional demeanor with strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
