Our busy Primary Care/Allergy practice, with offices in Clearwater and Palm Harbor, is seeking a bright, friendly, motivated individual to work as a Medical Assistant-Injection Specialist. Position is part-time, 20-25 hours per week, Monday (8:30am-12pm), Tuesday (8:30am-5pm), Thursday (8:30am-12pm), and Friday (8:30am-5pm). This position does not require work on Wednesdays. Training will take place in our Clearwater office. This position will requires work in our Clearwater office. You may also be asked to fill-in occasionally in our Palm Harbor office on Mondays and/or Thursdays.
The candidate we are seeking must have compassion for patients, a professional appearance, excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong ability to be punctual and have a positive, energetic attitude. The successful candidate must also submit to and pass a background check.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Greet all patients upon arrival at check-in window.
Perform injections per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
Give allergy injections to patients.
Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Relay messages from patients and staff to providers.
Represent office in a professional manner. Treat all patients, guests, and coworkers in a courteous and cooperative manner.
Maintain patient confidentiality using HIPAA regulations and document information accurately.
Use appropriate guidelines for releasing patient information.
Attend required meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification from approved entity or
Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved entity or
1+ year experience working as a Medical Assistant and performing functions as listed above in Job Responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment in a deadline-oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, must be a team player.
Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records program.
Ability to work from both office locations as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possesses MA Certification or MA Diploma
Allergy and/or Primary Care practice experience
Athenahealth electronic medical record experience
