    MEDICAL ASSISTANT

    Our office is a premiere Interventional Pain Management Practice in the Burbank area.

    We are looking for a proactive individual that is professional in demeanor and appearance, has a strong work ethic, is reliable, punctual, QUICK learner, customer oriented, and has an overall positive upbeat attitude. Preference given to applicants that have graduated a Medical Assistant Program with at least 2 years experience and Certification.     QUALIIFCATIONS:

    -Versatility in performing BOTH FRONT and BACK OFFICE Clinical TASKS:

    ADMIN: answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling, chart retrieval and checking-in patients, fax/scan/upload documents, verifying insurance for patients, requesting and following up on insurance authorizations for procedures and treatments, sending notes/thank you letters to referring physicians, organizing practice relevant documents/files, batching superbills to be submitted to billers

    CLINIC: Take complete vitals, setting up syringes/needles/medications, prepping for in-office injections, setting up EMG machine, assisting with ultrasound guided injections, restocking and inventory of supplies, cleaning rooms, urine drug screen collections, gathering patient’s medical records and images, assist providers as necessary

    COMMUNICATION:

    Gather objective pertinent history (symptoms, medical history, social history, medications including dosages, surgical/injection history, family history, imaging, etc.) from patients

    Enter Patient Information and History to the Electronic Medical Record

    Effectively and succinctly communicate patient’s history and issues to physicians

    Maintain Clear and open lines of communication with other staff ensuring patient-related tasks are completed in a timely fashion

    KNOWLEDGE:

    Computers, In-Network Shared Drives, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Scanning Documents, Uploading Documents to the Electronic Medical Record, Entering Patient’s Demographic and Medical Information into the the Electronic Chart

    Knowledge of Verifying Various Health Insurances for benefits — PPO (in and out of network), Medicare, TriWest, TriCare, Workman’s Compensation

    Knowledge of Navigating through the Insurance Authorization Process

    Medical Terminology Relevant to Pain/Musculoskeletal Practice

    Performs duties with speed and accuracy while observing Patient Confidentiality and the guidelines set forth by OSHA, DHS, CLIA, HIPPA, and specific contracts

    Strict adherence to our policies and procedure manuals

    SKILLS:

    Able to be cross-trained, transition from one task to another, complete assignments/tasks within deadlines set and transition without loss of efficiency or composure

    Complete duties as assigned by Supervisor and Doctors/Health Care Providers.

    Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and have EXCELLENT written and oral skills

    Efficiently Multi-Task and Must have the ability to manage priorities and workflow

    Strong Attention to Detail is a MUST: spelling, correct account numbers, DOB, grammar, patient address

    Ability to deal calmly with personnel, patients, visitors, hospitals, other physician offices, and etc.

    Respect for co-workers, physicians, superiors, pharmacists, and patients

    Solid understanding of World-Class patient care and willingness to provide such customer experience.

    Ability to work well with multidisciplinary team

    Responsive to Constructive Feedback

    Ability to have versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a positive attitude

    While the majority of our patients speak English, Bilingual is a plus.
